How Do Advocacy Services Work?

  • Free Consultation -->

    We will meet to go over what is going on. I can tell you if I’m the right fit or not to help you. We are often able to problem-solve a lot during this meeting, even if you don’t end up working with me. I might refer you to someone else if there’s a highly specialized need. You receive notes from our consultation. You do not have to sign up for paid services.

  • Document Review and Report -->

    If you choose to work with me and sign a contract, you will pay a deposit. The deposit covers a Document Review and Report. This means I will go over all relevant IEPs, 504 Plans, Evaluations, Progress Reports, etc. and tell you what the highest leverage next steps are and create a plan of action.

  • Advocacy Services

    We agree on which strategy feels right for you. We sign a Release of Information so I can communicate with the school and district staff, with parents included at all times. I work with the school/district staff to organize IEP/504 meetings, advocate over email/calls/meetings for what is recommended for your child. When necessary, I will use Dispute Resolution measures such as State Complaints, OCR Complaints, Mediation, and Facilitated IEP meetings. Due Process requires an Educational Attorney, who I can work together with.
